Description:
The S.S. Fortuna was a sleek, powerful ship, though she did not show it. The hull was the color of silver, though something far stronger and far more valuable, an alien material that most humans had only read about. She cut through space like a razor, silent, but no less deadly than a harbinger. Fortuna is a A-class vessel, not meant for war, but with her upgrades, she could hold her own in a fair-fight against another ship about her size. She's better at being fast, and using her small size to cleverly out-fly her opponents.
Taking a glance at the ship, you would think it to hold upwards of fifty crew members, and this would be true in most circumstances. S.S. Fortuna would be, had she not been taken captive by a band of rogues, led by a small earth-woman, and her pilot four earth years before today. The previous crew was given a choice, either join with her and swear loyalty no matter the outcome, or be sent out the airlock. Not a single one chose to join the rag-tag band of thieves.
Inside Fortuna is well furnished, as the Captain is a woman of fine-tastes, and refuses to have herself, or any of her crew, sleeping on beds that weren't much more than a pile of wood with a thin layer of cotton overtop. Each crew member has their own room, though they all have to share a bath and shower room (luckily enough, the boys and girls are separated). These lodgings are found in the lower part of the ship, just above the docking and storage bay. Above that is the mess-hall and cafeteria combination, where the crew has breakfast, lunch, and dinner served. Along side this is the med-bay, the armory, and the science lab. Two great panels made of a clear, extremely tough, polycarbonate-glass mixture is clear as glass and allows you to watch the great unknown of space float by. The top floor is the Captain and Pilots usual lurk, despite the ship being almost completely controlled by the sarcastic AI, Leon (more on him later), the Pilot is still a necessary precaution. Here is also where the captain summons her crew to just before a mission, to brief them.
What does the crew of S.S. Fortuna do, you ask? That is simple enough to answer, though it does vary a bit depending on who you ask. If you ask the Captain, she will smile and simply answer, "We're adventurers! Treasure hunters!" but if you ask the Pilot, he will smirk and reply, "We're pirates. Nothing more to be said. We steal things and sell them." Therefore, the general consensus is that the crew steals valuable treasures, and sells them on the black market.
Now, you're probably wondering still who Leon is. Leon is the ship's AI (Artificial Intelligence). He hears all, sees all, and controls all, which can be a bit unsettling when you find out that he's a bit bi-polar, and prone to fits of depression. This is due to a project that was abandoned by most years ago, to create AIs with personalities. They soon found that this was a bad idea, since computers have a habit of going evil. Leon wanders about the ship, projecting himself as a hologram, and converses with the crew members. He shares a friendship with the Pilot, and a mutual dislike with the Captain. They both tolerate each other, nothing more. Leon parades around the hallways usually masquerading as a lanky boy with shoulders slightly large for his frame, with tanned skin, and hair the color of fire. His eyes are cyber-green, and have no white, nor pupil. Typically, he wears the same uniform that is standard issue for the S.S. Fortuna's crew.
Captain gives a standard uniform to every new crew member, and hands out new ones every six months. These are uniforms that should be worn when there is something that requires a level of fastidiousness. The uniform is a long sleeve shirt made of a soft, flexible material, and trousers. It's black, with silver buttons and lined with silver as well. If you're uniform gets stained beyond repair or ripped, submit a report using your issued terminal. Leon will issue you a new set.
To sum up...
You play a character(s) that are pirates on the stolen ship S.S. Fortuna, traveling the galaxy stealing things (especially hearts). On this ship are your basic necessities, and you can buy the other things whenever we dock (which will be often). The ship is mostly controlled by a psychotic computer named Leon.
